2012 RECon Middle East And North Africa Shopping Centre Industry Conference Will Look Back To Move The Industry Forward

Dubai , UAE - August 30, 2012:?

Back to the Future is the theme of the 2012 RECon Middle East & North Africa (MENA) shopping centre industry conference scheduled for 11-13 November at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Jointly organized by the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) the three day conference will feature intense pre-conference workshops, conference sessions, and panel discussions by noted industry experts and shopping centre professionals from around the world.

?With economies throughout the world improving and consumers satisfying their pent-up demand for goods and services, shopping centre professionals want to know if it?s back to business as usual or has the consumer?s shopping habits, wants and desires forever been altered. While no one can accurately predict the future, it is clear that what made shopping centres successful in the Middle East in the first place - great brands, good food, and exciting entertainment options - will never go out of fashion. Therefore during the 2012 RECon MENA Conference we will take a look back at our past successes with the goal of improving upon them to ensure that the shopping centre industry has a bright and prosperous future,? explained MECSC President Rashid Doleh, Co-Founder and Partner, mSquared Shopping Centres, LLC.

RECon MENA will feature international and regional experts who will share experiences, analyze current trends and help attendees gain insights to assist them in reformulating business plans to ensure stability and growth. Conference sessions and workshops will focus on many industry specific topics including social media and its use by shopping centres; leasing tactics, tools, and tips; negotiation strategies for shopping centre professionals; future trends in shopping centre design and construction; and asset management and how to increase net operating income (NOI).

In addition to the educational and networking opportunities, the conference will include the 2012 Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards. The Middle East is home to some of the largest and most advance enclosed malls and shopping centres in the world and in order to properly acknowledge the innovativeness of the centres in this region, ICSC and MECSC in 2011 launched the Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards. In all, nine centres were recognized by ICSC and MECSC in three categories: Marketing, Design and Development, and Retail. The Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards are a prime opportunity for shopping centre owners, developers, management companies, architects, designers and retailers to showcase their efforts in design, development and operation of their centres and stores.
